The Seminar is co-sponsored by FMS (Financial Managers Society), the Pennsylvania Association of Community Bankers and the Virginia Bankers Association.

The Seminar presents current information that is important to meeting the challenges and opportunities for community financial institutions. The banking and thrift industries continue to experience rapid consolidation and overlap with credit unions, insurance companies, financial companies and investment bankers. Public institutions must enhance stockholder value, must address SEC reporting requirements and be aware of merger and acquisition opportunities. Mutual institutions are challenged to invest “excess” capital and to serve the community. Mutual institutions should also consider the opportunities of a stock reorganization.
